A US-based CDMO headquartered in the Northeastern United States successfully upgraded its Oracle E-Business Suite environment from 12.2.4 to 12.2.12 to improve compliance, operational efficiency, and system performance across its GMP manufacturing and supply chain operations.
The upgrade addressed key challenges related to aging technology, limited performance, increasing audit requirements, and the need for stronger integration capabilities with LIMS, MES, and cloud analytics. The project included updates to major functional areas such as Process Manufacturing, Quality, Warehouse Management, and Financials, as well as a database upgrade to Oracle 19c and remediation of more than 400 custom objects.
A comprehensive GxP validation approach—covering IQ, OQ, and PQ—ensured regulatory alignment throughout testing and deployment. The final cutover was completed in 11 hours, significantly reducing expected downtime.
Post-deployment, the CDMO achieved measurable improvements, including faster WMS mobile performance, quicker planning runs, enhanced batch genealogy visibility, and a substantial reduction in production incidents due to the updated technical stack. A global medical devices manufacturer expanded its Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) R12.2 footprint into India to support rapid regional growth, ensure statutory compliance, and align India operations with global business processes. The rollout enabled full integration of India finance, supply chain, and quality operations into the company’s global ERP framework while meeting all local regulatory requirements.
The implementation focused on India-specific compliance needs, including GST, TDS, TCS, statutory reporting, and e-way bill data extraction.
